Prayer Guide

Day 7, March 26, 2022 - "Grounded in God’s Word"

Passages

He humbled you, causing you to hunger and then feeding you with manna, which neither you nor your ancestors had known, to teach you that man does not live on bread alone but on every word that comes from the mouth of the Lord. (Deut 8:3)

Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like someone who looks at his face in a mirror and, after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But whoever looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues in it—not forgetting what they have heard, but doing it—they will be blessed in what they do. (James 1:22-25)

Prayer Points:

Take a survey of a typical day and week in your life. How much time do you spend meditating on God’s Word? How intentional are you about putting into practice the instructions and principles you read in God’s Word? If you feel you are not disciplined in this area, ask God to forgive you and to give you an unquenchable thirst for His Word. As a practical step, find a Bible reading plan online. There are many different kinds of Bible reading plans to help you become more disciplined with reading God’s Word.
